I have been
fascinated by tattoos pretty much my whole life. I remember an
uncle who had one and the story of his getting it. He told of blood
dripping
off his elbow and the pain. (He exaggerated for the shock factor as i
was
young.) Still I was sure i would have one some day. They just looked so
cool.
I joined the army and would frequently visit shops around the
different
bases, but I never felt right about getting one. Then I met Lou Lombi, of
the
Tattoo Paradise in '85 and I finally got one. I met quite a few people
who
were in the business before I apprenticed under Louie, and when the
chance
arose I leapt at it. Louie is the best in the business and the opportunity
to
learn under him was something I was very grateful to have.
It's quite satisfying to
sit down and do a good solid piece on someone who is excited about his or
her new Tattoo. You have created something they can't lose,
can't give away or sell. Tattoos that have been done properly will last
the
client's whole lifetime and they will be able to show it to people and
share
the beauty of it over and over again. So come on in and sit down and we
will
commence to carvin'. ; -)
